Advanced Recycling
URT’s Advanced recycling techniques aim to maximize the recovery of valuable resources and minimize the environmental impact of each electronic item that enters our facilities. We are always committed to understanding the challenges our customers face and finding innovative solutions to meet their needs. Through our ongoing research, we identify common themes among businesses and strive to provide solutions to meet their unmet needs and recycling challenges.
Our key advanced recycling capabilities include but are not limited to:
Electronic Recycling
Post-Shred Process:
At URT, we are focused on the recovery of plastics from the company’s recycling process. Our Plastics Recovery System takes advantage of the fact that different plastics have unique densities, allowing them to be separated by floating or sinking in a liquid medium. This post-shred process allows us to produce a clean granulated product and increase the value for all the electronic plastics entering our facility.
Electronic waste plastics can account for more than a dozen of different polymers and certain plastics containing flame-retardants need to be separated. The system focuses on the recovery of the following plastics: Polystyrene, ABS, Polyethylene, and Polypropylene.
Copper Recovery System (Copper Chopper System)
Post-Shred Process:
At URT, our copper recovery systems utilize a copper chopper to maximum the recovery of copper and aluminum from discarded copper wires, cords, and cables. These systems allow us to both increase the quality of our post-shred outputs for wire and provides a solution for our customer’s wire, cords, and cables recycling needs.
Solar Panel Recycling
At URT, we are committed to providing a responsible recycling solution for retired solar panels. As the world increasingly embraces renewable energy resources, the lifecycle of solar panels raises questions about environmental impact and sustainability.
Solar panels are designed to last for decades and contain both valuable and harmful materials that pose a challenge for recyclers. As they reach the end of their operational life, solar panels’ proper disposal is crucial to recovering the valuable materials and preventing negative environmental impact.
