URT provides full service, integrated recycling services through a diverse range of capabilities that serve customers throughout the United States. Our world-class processing facilities are located in four distinct regions—giving us a broad geographic reach to serve customers from coast to coast.

Why Recycle Electronic Items?

Valuable Materials

Electronic waste contains many valuable, recoverable materials such as aluminum, copper, gold, silver, and other precious metals.

Recycling means we can conserve natural resources—extracting fewer raw materials from the earth.

As a result, we save energy, reduce pollution and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling means we can, in some cases, extend the life of our products through refurbishment and reuse.

Toxic Chemicals

Electronic waste contains toxic and hazardous materials including mercury, lead, cadmium, beryllium, chromium, and chemical flame retardants.

Recycling means that electronic waste doesn’t end up in our landfills where these hazardous materials could leach into our soil and water, causing serious health and wellness concerns for vegetation, wildlife and people.

Sensitive Information

Electronic waste often contains sensitive personal information and company data, such as financial information and health records, that shouldn’t be left laying in a landfill.

Recycling means that sensitive data is safe and secure—mitigating the risk of personal information theft for businesses and individuals.
